Top Events This Week: ‘Moana’ Screening and Five Star Weekend

This past week, the entertainment scene was buzzing with premieres, screenings, and special events attended by some of our favorite stars.

Catherine Laga’aia and Dwayne Johnson kicked things off by debuting “Moana” at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, followed by a star-studded celebration of Peacock’s “The Five Star Weekend” in L.A. with D’Arcy Carden, Jennifer Garner, Gemma Chan, and Chloë Sevigny.

The festivities continued with the premiere of “The Hawk” in L.A., where Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Fortune Feimster, and Jimmy Tatro gathered to showcase their latest project. Danny McBride also took the stage at Live Talks Los Angeles to discuss his new short story collection, “Thrilling Tales of Modern Men: Stories.”

Meanwhile, David Wain and Zoey Deutch attended a screening of their film “Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass,” and the iconic cast of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” came together in L.A. to celebrate the show’s 20th season.

On the East Coast, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was followed by Donna Kelce’s appearance at the 50th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks in NYC. Ryan Seacrest surprised fans at the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s Seacrest Studio location in Nashville, and Normani rocked the stage at Coca-Cola’s Main Stage at Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Additionally, directors Chad N. Walker and Dave LaMattina delighted audiences with a sneak peek of their film “Summer of ’94” at a newportFILM screening, while Jack Quaid enjoyed a Fourth of July screening of “Jurassic Park” at Cinespia.

Snoop Dogg took over The Surf Lodge in the Hamptons as part of Nylon’s Residency, and Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse hosted a backyard barbecue co-hosted by Crazy Mountain, the new non-alcoholic beer backed by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman.

Jennifer Garner also had a busy week, attending InStyle’s “Good Ideas” dinner to celebrate the launch of Peacock series “The Five-Star Weekend,” while Kaitlyn Bristowe joined author Julie LaPlaca’s book launch for “The Love Producer” in New York City.

Closing out the week, Larry David and Colin Jost hit the greens for the 2026 ACC Golf Championship in South Lake Tahoe, and DJ Khaled hosted a successful launch party for the MCM x DJ Khaled x We The Best collaboration in NYC. Target also celebrated 30 years of JAY-Z’s music and cultural influence with a special event in New York City, attended by guests like Pete Davidson.
