Key Factors to Watch in Steelers vs Bengals Week 7
The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in an exciting AFC North primetime matchup on Thursday Night Football at Paycor Stadium. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Prime Video.
One of the key matchups to watch in this game is the battle of the veteran quarterbacks. This will be only the third time in NFL history that two starting quarterbacks over the age of 40 will face off. Joe Flacco, at 40 years old, will lead the Bengals, while Aaron Rodgers, at 41, will be under center for the Steelers.
Both quarterbacks have the opportunity to make some impressive career milestones in this game. Rodgers is just 115 yards away from surpassing Ben Roethlisberger for the fifth spot on the NFL’s all-time passing yardage leaderboard, with a total of 63,973 career yards. Flacco, on the other hand, is only 190 yards shy of moving past Russell Wilson into the 15th spot with his current career total of 46,731 yards.
Flacco, who spent 11 years with the Baltimore Ravens, is no stranger to facing off against the Steelers. In his 22 regular-season games against Pittsburgh, he holds an even 11-11 record and has thrown for over 5,000 yards with 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
In last season’s Week 4 matchup against the Steelers while playing for the Indianapolis Colts, Flacco completed 16 of 26 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns to help secure a 27-24 victory. On the other side, Rodgers has had a strong start with the Steelers, throwing for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first six starts, with a passer rating of 105.4.
Keep an eye on these two seasoned quarterbacks as they go head-to-head in what promises to be an exciting matchup on Thursday night.
