New Animated Series: The Chosen Adventures for Families
A new family-friendly animated series called “The Chosen Adventures” is set to premiere on Prime Video on October 17, created by 5&2 Studios, the same team behind the popular series “The Chosen.”
The show follows the adventures of 9-year-old Abby and her friend Joshua in the city of Capernaum, where they meet the wise carpenter, Jesus of Nazareth, who changes their lives. The series consists of 14 episodes, each 11 minutes long, and features the original cast members from “The Chosen,” including Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdalene, Paras Patel as Matthew, and George Xanthis as John, among others. New cast members include Paul Walter Hauser as Sheep, Yvonne Orji as Pigeon, and more.
According to Dallas Jenkins, the creator of “The Chosen,” the idea for the animated series came from the positive response to an episode in the live-action show where Jesus interacts with children. He believes that seeing Jesus through the eyes of a child can offer a fresh perspective for viewers of all ages. The show aims to balance whimsy and playfulness with a grounding in truth to appeal to both children and adults.
Overall, “The Chosen Adventures” promises to be a heartwarming and engaging series that brings a unique perspective to the story of Jesus for viewers of all ages.
