UNC and Hulu Cancel Planned Documentary Due to Bill Belichick’s Rough First Year
North Carolina’s football season isn’t shaping up to be quite the movie-like experience Hulu was hoping for. The streaming service had plans to film a documentary following the Tar Heels through coach Bill Belichick’s first year, but those plans have been scrapped due to the team’s rough start.
Bill Belichick, a legendary coach, took the helm at North Carolina with high hopes and excitement. However, the Tar Heels have faced some tough losses early on in the 2025 season. TCU handed them a crushing defeat with a score of 48–14 in the season opener, and subsequent games against UCF and Clemson didn’t go much better, resulting in a combined score of 72–19 against North Carolina. The team’s only wins so far have come against Charlotte and FCS Richmond.
With a break this week, the Tar Heels will regroup before facing off against ACC rival California next Friday. But the challenges don’t stop there, as tough matchups with No. 19 Virginia and Syracuse loom on the horizon.
It’s clear that North Carolina is facing an uphill battle, and Hulu has decided to pull the plug on their planned documentary as a result. While the team may be struggling, fans are hoping for a turnaround as the season progresses. Stay tuned for more updates on North Carolina’s journey on the field.
