Disney+ Signs Content Streaming Deal with Spain’s Atresmedia, Producer of Netflix’s ‘Money …

Disney+ has some exciting news for its subscribers in Spain! They’ve just signed a deal with Atresmedia to bring you a curated collection of over 300 hours of Spanish-produced content each year. You’ll be able to find these titles in a dedicated Atresplayer streamer space right on the Disney+ home page starting this month.

If you’re a fan of “Money Heist” (“La Casa de Papel”), you’ll be happy to know that this series is part of the lineup. In fact, it’s ranked as the No. 4 most-viewed foreign-language series on Netflix, with over 106 million views worldwide.

Karl Holmes, GM of Disney+ for EMEA, shared his thoughts on the new partnership, saying, “This agreement reflects our commitment to supporting local television channels across Europe, including our recent agreement in the U.K. with ITVX.”

Atresmedia CEO Javier Bardají is also excited about the collaboration, stating, “This pioneering and historic agreement… allows us to expand the reach of our productions, promoting Spanish talent and culture.”

In addition to “Money Heist,” you can look forward to other popular Atresmedia titles like “Gran Hotel,” “Velvet,” and “Vis a Vis.” This partnership not only showcases Spanish talent but also strengthens Atresplayer as a leading Spanish platform.

Disney+ will start streaming original Atresmedia series like “Mar Fuera,” “La Voz,” and “Tu Cara Me suena,” as well as Antenna 3 series, beginning September 14th. With Disney+ already boasting 2.2 million subscribers in Spain, this is just another reason to check out the content available on this popular streaming platform.
