Julianne Nicholson Wins Emmy for Guest Actress in Comedy Show “Dance Mom Hacks”
At the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys, Julianne Nicholson nabbed the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Hacks on HBO Max. Competing against top talents like Olivia Colman and Jamie Lee Curtis, Nicholson’s portrayal of Mary Alice, known as Dance Mom, really stood out. Her character, a mom taking TikTok by storm, goes through a whirlwind journey in LA as her fame grows. Already an Emmy winner for Mare of Easttown in 2021, Nicholson could potentially add two more trophies to her collection this year with a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Paradise in addition to her Hacks recognition.
Olivia Colman, playing Chef Andrea Terry on The Bear, delivered a moving performance in the latest season. Colman’s previous Emmy success includes wins for roles in The Night Manager, Fleabag, and The Crown, where she played Queen Elizabeth II. Another nominee, Jamie Lee Curtis, received praise for her role as Donna Berzatto on The Bear. Curtis, who won this category last year, gave an unforgettable performance as the troubled matriarch of the Berzatto family.
Cynthia Erivo shined in Poker Face with versatile acting, playing five different characters. Already a Daytime Emmy winner for The Color Purple, Erivo is no stranger to accolades. Robby Hoffman’s breakout role on Hacks also earned a nomination, making it an incredible year for the comedian. Lastly, Zöe Kravitz played herself on The Studio amongst a star-studded cast and earned a nomination for her captivating performance.
