Roku Appoints Lisa Holme as Head of Content Following David Eilenberg’s Departure
Roku has announced Lisa Holme, a former executive from Warner Bros Discovery and Hulu, as the new head of content. Based in Santa Monica, Holme will oversee original programming, acquisitions, partnerships, sports, and brand content, as well as focus on innovations in emerging verticals and technologies. She will be reporting to Roku Media president Charlie Collier starting September 8.
During her tenure at Warner Bros Discovery, Holme played a key role in developing multiplatform content strategies for services like Discovery+ and HBO Max. Her experience at Hulu involved handling content licensing, co-productions, partnerships, and overall strategy.
Holme steps into the position previously held by David Eilenberg, who departed earlier this year to rejoin ITV America as creative director after serving at Roku for three years.
Collier praised Holme, highlighting her as an outstanding leader with a broad understanding of the streaming content industry. He emphasized her talents in discerning audience preferences, platform enhancement, and data-driven insights. Collier also mentioned Holme’s track record in team-building and her deep respect for the creative process and individuals who bring stories to life.
In his statement, Collier expressed excitement about Holme’s appointment, noting her potential to be a valuable asset to Roku, its team, colleagues, and industry peers.
