The Weird World of Gumball: Unconventional Animation

The wild and wacky world of Gumball is back, and this time it’s even weirder! The Amazing World of Gumball entertained fans for eight fantastic years with its crazy mix of animation styles and quirky characters. Now, get ready for The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, premiering today on Hulu and Disney+ in the U.S.

The new show, produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, takes us back to the kooky town of Elmore, where Gumball Watterson and his goldfish brother, Darwin, embark on all-new adventures. From battling evil fast food to dealing with an AI in love with their mom, this show is full of surprises.

Executive producer and series director Matt Layzell, a self-proclaimed Gumball fan, gushes about the freedom the show allows for creativity. And creator Ben Bocquelet adds his own secret ingredient to the mix – pain (in a good way, we assume!).

The show’s stunning visuals are thanks to executive producer Erik Fountain, who joined the team out of pure curiosity. He marvels at the show’s dynamic look, unlike anything he’s worked on before. And it’s no surprise, considering Gumball’s origins were born out of Bocquelet’s desire to break the rules and do things his way.

But breaking the rules paid off, and now Gumball is known for its unique and diverse animation styles. The new series even features a fresh logo and title sequence created by talented artist Jack Sachs. And with a voice cast led by Alkaio Thiele (Gumball) and Hero Hunte, this show is sure to be a hit with fans new and old.

So, get ready to dive back into the wonderfully weird world of Gumball, where anything can happen and chaos reigns supreme.
