New show from Breaking Bad creator premieres on Apple TV+ on November 7
Apple TV+ has some exciting news for fans of science fiction dramas. Pluribus, a new show created by the mastermind behind Breaking Bad, Vince Gilligan, is set to start streaming on November 7th. This announcement came after Gilligan’s involvement in the project was confirmed in 2022, with Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul taking the lead.
Apple has even given us a sneak peek with a short teaser that features a peculiar scene of a hospital employee mindlessly licking donuts. The premise of Pluribus promises to explore the story of “the most miserable person on Earth” who is on a mission to “save the world from happiness.” How these concepts will intersect is anyone’s guess at this point.
Apple’s dedication to producing top-notch science fiction content is evident in their lineup, including the adaptation of William Gibson’s Neuromancer, the successful series Foundation based on Isaac Asimov’s novels, and other hits like Severance, Murderbot, Silo, and For All Mankind. With their track record, viewers can expect a diverse catalog of sci-fi entertainment to choose from.
Although the exact genre of Pluribus remains a mystery, Apple has described it as a “genre-bending original.” Interestingly, the show was initially labeled as “a blended, grounded genre drama,” so fans can look forward to a unique viewing experience when it premieres. The first season will consist of nine episodes, debuting with two episodes on November 7th and followed by weekly releases until December 26th.
