Angela Jain Named Head of Content at Disney+ EMEA

Angela Jain, who previously served as Director of Unscripted at ITV Studios in the UK, has been appointed as the new Head of Content at Disney+ for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). She is set to start her new position in September, taking on the responsibility of overseeing Disney’s content strategy, including original productions, commissioning, and production management.

This move comes in light of Disney’s recent focus on international markets and their commitment to producing more local originals to complement their global content offerings. Disney plans to ramp up its local productions across Europe in the coming years, with Jain leading the charge in EMEA.

Jain’s role will involve collaborating with Eric Schrier, President of Disney Television Studios and Global Original Television Strategy, to enhance Disney+’s presence in the region. She will be replacing Liam Keelan, who left the company last year. Disney’s EMEA lineup already includes popular titles like Rivals, The Stolen Girl, bref.2, This Is Not Hollywood, and Invisible.

Having held various senior positions at ITV, including Controller of Digital Channels and Acquisitions and Managing Director of Lifted Entertainment, Jain brings a wealth of experience in the content industry. Her track record in overseeing successful productions and acquisitions makes her a valuable addition to Disney’s team.

In a statement, Eric Schrier expressed his confidence in Jain’s ability to elevate Disney’s storytelling and further expand its local content offerings. Jain herself expressed excitement about joining Disney and collaborating with top creative talent to produce high-quality shows for Disney+ viewers.
