Police Arrest 19-Year-Old Man in Fatal Fiery Crash on Mother’s Day in Hollywood

Last month in Hollywood, a tragic incident occurred that led to the death of a man in a fiery crash. The Hollywood Police Department has since arrested a 19-year-old man, Gerson Alette Jr., in connection with the incident. According to reports, Alette, a resident of North Miami Beach, was driving his 2013 white Chrysler 300 when he collided with a gray 2022 BMW 8 Series on Mother’s Day. The impact caused the BMW to burst into flames at Sheridan Street and North 40 Avenue around 5:40 p.m.

Hollywood fire rescue teams quickly responded to the scene, extinguished the fire, and discovered the man inside the BMW had tragically passed away. Alette was taken to the hospital for treatment following the crash. Police noted that Alette was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and stated that he was rushing to work at the Longhorn Steakhouse located at the Sheridan Plaza.

As of now, Alette is being held at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, facing charges that include vehicular homicide, disobeying a red light, six counts of reckless driving causing property damage, and two counts of unlawful speeding.
