Russell Simmons sues HBO Max for $20 million over ‘On The Record’ documentary
Russell Simmons recently filed a $20 million lawsuit against HBO Max because he is not happy with their 2020 documentary, On the Record. This documentary featured several women who made sexual assault allegations against Simmons. In the court documents, Simmons claims that HBO ignored over 20 witnesses who supposedly disputed the claims against him. He also mentioned that nine polygraph test results that were in his favor were disregarded by HBO.
Simmons went on to say that influential figures like civil rights leaders and members of Congress reached out to HBO, urging them to consider the evidence supporting his innocence. Even Oprah Winfrey, who was initially involved in the documentary as an executive producer, backed out after pointing out inconsistencies in the accusations.
It’s clear that Simmons is not happy with how he was portrayed in the documentary, and he is taking legal action to set the record straight. Share your thoughts on this situation below!
