Mickey Mouse Club Reboot on Disney+
The Mickey Mouse Club, known for launching the careers of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Gosling, is making a comeback on Disney+ with a fourth reboot on the horizon, as reported by Deadline. While an official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, Disney+ has revealed 11 new Mouseketeers set to grace the show, including Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts, Erianthe Akaata, Scarlett London Diviney, Michael Cash, Yonas Kibreab, Varonica Mitchell, Kauani, Scarlett Grace Petty, and Carter Barnes.
The new iteration of The Mickey Mouse Club is described by Disney as a platform for showcasing today’s most talented young performers, where music, innovation, and self-expression will be at the forefront. The show originally began as a stage show created by Walt Disney himself in the late 1920s before transitioning to television in the 1950s with its iconic theme song we all know and love (“M-I-C, K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E”). The show was later rebooted in the late 1970s and again in 1989 on the Disney Channel, which catapulted several stars into the spotlight. Most recently, the show was revamped for social media and digital platforms in 2017 under the title Club Mickey Mouse.
The fourth reboot of The Mickey Mouse Club is being produced by Fulwell Entertainment, the same company behind The Kardashians, and filming is set to commence this month in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting revival on Disney+!
