MFE CEO Announces Plan to Launch Streaming Platform in European Markets

MFE-MediaForEurope is gearing up to launch a unified streaming platform across its European markets. This move combines the expertise of its Italian and German businesses, signaling an impactful step towards competing with digital and advertising giants on a global scale.

Having successfully taken ownership of German counterpart ProSiebenSat.1 last year, a major strategic move by MFE, Chief Executive Pier Silvio Berlusconi shared at a recent press conference their decision to amalgamate the best features of their existing streaming services to create a single, cohesive platform. Planning for a rollout to commence in January, the platform will amalgamate the leading aspects of Italy’s Infinity service and Joyn, the ad-supported streaming service by ProSiebenSat.1.

“This unified platform will draw on the strengths of both Italy and Germany, with a tailored approach to content creation that resonates with local audiences,” stated Berlusconi. Emphasizing the importance of original programming crafted to suit diverse regional tastes, he highlighted the unique storytelling that underpins MFE’s content strategy.

Expanding its reach beyond the traditional territories of Italy and Spain, MFE’s acquisition of ProSiebenSat.1 facilitated a stronger presence in Austria, Switzerland, and Portugal. Berlusconi noted that the integration has already yielded €160 million in benefits this year, demonstrating the effectiveness of the merger. Despite a decline in advertising sales in Italy during the first half of the year, a positive trajectory is anticipated for the remainder of 2026.

Looking ahead, Berlusconi outlined plans to streamline digital investments, with a focus on optimizing existing ventures rather than pursuing additional acquisitions. Recognizing the importance of consolidating operations for enhanced efficiency and profitability, he expressed confidence in the company’s strategic direction.
