Emmy Nominations: Runaway Leader and Surprise Snub create shake-up

The Emmy nominations have been announced, and there are some exciting surprises and snubs to discuss! It’s no shock that “The Pitt” is leading the pack with the most nominations, while “Widow’s Bay” is making a splash with 19 nominations for its debut season.

One standout this year is Shawn Hatosy, who went from winning best guest actor last year to earning a supporting actor nomination this year for “The Pitt.” His co-stars, Patrick Ball and Gerran Howell, are also in the running. Plus, Taylor Dearden, Fiona Dourif, and Sepideh Moafi have all received their first nominations for their supporting roles in the show.

A cool twist this year is that Brittany Allen and Jeff Kober, who guest starred as ER patients on Season 2, self-submitted their work and snagged nominations. Fun fact: both have won Daytime Emmy Awards in the past. “The Pitt” has a total of 25 nominations, paving the way for well-deserved recognition.

In a sea of familiar names, some new faces have managed to break through. “Widow’s Bay” stars Matthew Rhys, Kate O’Flynn, Kevin Carroll, Stephen Root, and Dale Dickey all scored their first nominations.
