Runaway Leader and Surprise Snub Shake Up Emmy Nominations

The Primetime Emmy Award nominations are here, and one show is already taking the lead – it’s “The Pitt” with more nominations than any other show. Additionally, it’s a fantastic debut for the cast of “Widow’s Bay” who have secured 19 nominations for their first season.

Wednesday’s nominations brought both surprises and some disappointments. Some hits and misses for “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette” were noted, along with a first-time nomination for Connor Storrie, though not for the show he’s most famous for.

“The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White won’t be attending the Emmy Awards as a nominee this year, despite the series receiving several nominations for its final season. Don’t worry, the show itself is in the running, just not for White’s acting.

Now, let’s get into some of the noteworthy nominees and snubs of this year’s Emmy nominations:

First up, we have the powerhouse of “The Pitt,” with Shawn Hatosy now in the running for Best Supporting Actor after taking home Best Guest Actor last year. The show has garnered a total of 25 nominations, almost double what it received for its first season.

Moving on to some fresh faces, we see new nominees like Matthew Rhys in the horror-comedy “Widow’s Bay” and Charlie Hunnam in “Monster: The Ed Gein Story.” These new additions bring a breath of fresh air to the Emmy nominations this year.

Unfortunately, not everyone got the recognition they deserved. Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in “The Bear,” missed out on a nomination this year. And even though Sarah Pidgeon snagged a nomination for “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette,” her co-star Paul Anthony Kelly was left empty-handed.

In terms of reality TV surprises, we’ve got Ariana Madix scoring an Emmy nomination for her hosting skills on “Love Island USA.” Plus, “Summer House” drama led to an unexpected nomination for an unstructured reality show.

And finally, after a decade of being shut out, “Dancing with the Stars” is back in the Emmy nominations spotlight, with Season 34 earning a nod for Best Reality Show.

Overall, this year’s Emmy nominations are filled with both familiar faces and new talents, making for an exciting lineup of potential winners. It’s anyone’s game come Emmy night, so stay tuned for all the glitz, glam, and drama of television’s biggest night!
