Peacock’s Top Scripted Series: The Five Star Weekend
Peacock’s hit scripted series, “The Five Star Weekend,” starring Jennifer Garner, has made an impressive debut by becoming the streaming platform’s top scripted series ever.
In its first week on Peacock, the show garnered over 1 billion viewing minutes, solidifying its position as the most-watched scripted series on the platform to date. Additionally, “The Five Star Weekend” ranked among the top five original streaming series for the week of July 6, based on Nielsen rankings, although specific data from that week is not yet available.
The show also made waves on social media, claiming the title of the most socially engaging streaming premiere for the week of July 6. With over 13 million video views, the buzz around “The Five Star Weekend” has been incredibly positive.
Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel, the series follows the story of Hollis Shaw, played by Jennifer Garner, a food influencer and author who navigates a heartbreaking loss by inviting three friends from different chapters of her life, along with a surprise guest. The dynamic cast features D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, and Chloë Sevigny, with Harlow Jane and Timothy Olyphant rounding out the ensemble.
While there is no sequel to Hilderbrand’s book, showrunner Bekah Brunstetter envisions more seasons to come, potentially exploring new vacation destinations with a new fifth star added to the mix. As Brunstetter aptly puts it, “They could go on vacations forever.”
Produced by Universal Global Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, “The Five Star Weekend” is available for streaming on Peacock. So, if you’re in the mood for a gripping, binge-worthy series, be sure to check it out!
