2026 Emmy Nominations: Top Nominated Shows Include Hacks, The Pitt, and Widow’s Bay
Nominees for the 2026 Emmy Awards are out, and there are some clear frontrunners this year. HBO Max’s The Pitt is leading the way with a whopping 25 nominations, showing its dominance in categories like Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor (Noah Wyle). In its final season, Hacks also made a big splash with 24 nominations, securing a spot as the most nominated comedy in a single year.
Another standout this year is the newcomer Widow’s Bay, which gained attention through word-of-mouth praise and lucky timing—its season finale aired right in the middle of the Emmy voting period. This propelled it to 19 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
Other notable contenders include Pluribus (18 nominations), Beef (16), and DTF St. Louis (13). HBO/HBO Max took the lead in total nominations with 122, closely followed by Netflix with 111 nominations. Apple TV also had a strong showing with 87 nominations, taking a significant leap from last year.
However, there were some noticeable snubs this year. Favorites like The Lowdown and Taylor Sheridan’s shows didn’t receive the recognition they deserved, leaving fans and critics surprised. Richard Gadd’s Half Man only got one nomination after a successful run just two years ago.
The full list of nominees is available on the Emmys website, with winners set to be announced in September. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for Sept. 14 on NBC and Peacock, and the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on Sept. 5 and 6.
The nominations cover various categories, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, and more. The competition is fierce, with top contenders like The Pitt, Hacks, Pluribus, Widow’s Bay, and many more vying for the prestigious awards.
Stay tuned for the big night in September to see who takes home the top honors in the world of television!
