Dutton Ranch Star Questions Season One Finale Death

In the debut season of the “Yellowstone” spin-off, Dutton Ranch, fans were left reeling after a major character’s shocking death in the season one finale. Juan Pablo Raba, who plays Joaquin on the show, is not entirely convinced that his character is responsible for the tragedy.

The ninth episode, titled “El Padrino,” featured the execution-style murder of Jai Courtney’s character, Rob-Will. The character’s death was not shown on-screen, but rather discovered by his daughter, Oreana, in a heartbreaking moment. All signs seem to point to Joaquin as the culprit, as his father instructed him to carry out the deed earlier in the episode.

Despite the evidence against his character, Raba remains skeptical of Joaquin’s guilt. The actor shared, “I don’t think he did it. He’s not a killer. He’s not even a cowboy, for Christ’s sake. He has never shot anyone in his life.” Raba hinted that until viewers see Joaquin actually commit the crime, they shouldn’t be too quick to judge.

Raba emphasized the timeline of events leading up to the shooting, highlighting the calculated and cold-blooded nature of the act. He questioned whether Joaquin, as a character, could truly be capable of such a heinous act. With the season one finale leaving fans on the edge of their seats, the anticipation for the next season is high.

“Dutton Ranch” has been a hit on Paramount+, breaking records with its first two episodes. The show has already been renewed for a second season, expected to premiere in 2027. As a part of Taylor Sheridan’s popular “Yellowstone” universe, “Dutton Ranch” continues to captivate audiences with its drama and suspense.
