Michael Weatherly Returns to ‘NCIS’ for Season 24: Latest Updates

One more familiar face is returning to NCIS! Michael Weatherly, who starred in the first 13 seasons of the show, will be making a comeback in the upcoming 24th season. The news of his return follows the announcement that Mark Harmon will also have a season-long role on NCIS: Origins.

Weatherly will reprise his role as Tony DiNozzo and join the team in Washington, D.C. for the new season. Although Weatherly’s last appearance on the flagship series was back in February 2024, fans got to see him and Cote de Pablo in NCIS: Tony and Ziva on Paramount+ last year, but unfortunately, the show was canceled after one season.

The storyline that will bring Tony back to NCIS remains under wraps for now, keeping fans in suspense. The current regular cast includes Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Katrina Law, and Gary Cole. Murray and Dietzen are the only members of the current cast whose time on the show overlapped with Weatherly’s tenure.

CBS Studios produces NCIS and its related shows, with the franchise adding NCIS: New York to its lineup for the upcoming season. The executive producers for season 24 include Steven D. Binder, Chas. Floyd Johnson, Mark Harmon, and more. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting return to NCIS!
