JonBenet Ramsey Series with Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen Now Streaming on Netflix
A show about the mysterious case of JonBenet Ramsey is making its way to Netflix, after being put on hold at its original home, Paramount+. The limited series, titled The Murder of JonBenet Ramsey, features Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen as Patsy and John Ramsey, and is expected to premiere on Netflix this winter. Originally greenlit at Paramount+ in 2024, before the company was acquired by Skydance, the series is produced by 101 Studios, known for hits like Yellowstone and Landman. While Paramount TV Studios was initially involved, it will not be credited when the show airs on Netflix.
Filming for the series wrapped up in early 2025 under the title Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenet Ramsey. The plan was for it to be the first part of a series investigating unsolved crimes, similar to Netflix’s anthology series Monster.
However, the show found itself on the backburner after Skydance took over Paramount. In addition, 101 Studios made the move from Paramount to NBCUniversal this year, following Taylor Sheridan, who collaborated with 101 on several projects, to NBCU.
Netflix has described the limited series as an in-depth look into “one of the most notorious unsolved murder cases in American history, and the devastating impact it had.” Keep an eye out for this chilling series coming soon to a screen near you.
