Kevin Canceled: Season 2 Not Renewed at Prime Video

Bad news for fans of the animated series “Kevin” on Prime Video—there won’t be a second season. Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, the show’s executive producers, broke the news on Instagram, expressing disappointment that the show wouldn’t be continuing. Plaza thanked viewers, the cast, and crew for their hard work in bringing the show to life.

The series featured Jason Schwartzman as the main character, Kevin the cat, and Plaza as Dana, his former owner. Other cast members included Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters, Aparna Nancherla, Amy Sedaris, and Gil Ozeri. Plaza shared her experience working on the show, drawing parallels to her time on “Parks & Rec” and expressing hope that the show would have had a chance to grow an audience.

Joe Wengert also took to Instagram to express his gratitude to everyone involved in the making of the show. He shared his pride in creating a funny series that resonated with him and expressed disappointment that they wouldn’t have the chance to continue that journey.

Prime Video released the first season of “Kevin” in April but has decided not to move forward with another season. While fans may be saddened by this news, the creators are grateful for the opportunity they had to bring the show to life. Let’s hope that Kevin the cat finds a new owner someday.
