Joanne Froggatt and Edward Bluemel Cast in The Magnificent Seven Remake

Joanne Froggatt, known for her role in “Downton Abbey,” is switching gears and heading to the Wild West in the upcoming MGM+ Western “The Magnificent Seven.” She will portray Harriet Talbot, a widow who recruits a band of hired guns to protect her Quaker village. Joining her in the cast are Amy Forsyth as gunslinger Katie “Deadeye” Dalton and Danny Pino as charming con man Santiago “Santi” Vega.

Based on the classic 1960 film, “The Magnificent Seven” on MGM+ follows seven mercenaries hired to safeguard a peaceful Quaker village under threat from ruthless mercenaries working for a land baron. The series, created by Tim Kring, stars Matt Dillon as the stoic leader Chris Adams, alongside Will Patton and Michael Ealy.

In more casting buzz, Edward Bluemel from “Killing Eve” is set to star as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot in the new BritBox series “Hercule.” Meanwhile, Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. will reunite for a Hulu comedy pilot inspired by “The Cable Guy.” Additionally, Lesley Manville will appear in the Prime Video comedy “Escorted,” “The Boys” stars Chace Crawford and P.J. Byrne will play brothers in the series “We Were Once Men” on Prime Video, and Apple TV’s “Your Friends & Neighbors” has added Rick Cosnett, Sydney Lemmon, Mitchell Hoog, and Gillian Zinser for its Season 3 cast.
