First Look at Netflix’s Live-Action ‘Scooby-Doo’ Featuring a Real Dog

Who’s ready to solve mysteries with Scooby-Doo in a whole new way? Get excited because Netflix is bringing us a live-action “Scooby-Doo: Origins” series and guess what? Scooby is a real dog this time! That’s right, for the first time ever, we’ll see our favorite sleuthing pup as a live, furry friend.

Netflix gave us a sneak peek at the adorable doggo set to play Scooby-Doo in the upcoming series, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Check out the first glimpse of our new Scooby below:

Set to debut on Netflix in 2027, this series is currently in production in Atlanta and boasts a star-studded cast. We’ll see Mckenna Grace take on the role of Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, and Paul Walter Hauser.

Described as a “modern reimagining” of the classic series, “Scooby-Doo: Origins” will follow Shaggy and Daphne during their last summer at camp. They stumble upon a mysterious case involving a lost Great Dane puppy who may hold the key to a supernatural murder. Spooky, right?

With an official logline that promises an exciting and creepy adventure, this new series is sure to be a hit with fans old and new. The show is in good hands with showrunners like Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, along with an impressive list of executive producers.
