Exploring Beyond Boxing in Hulu’s “They Fight”: A Closer Look

Hulu has shared the trailer for their upcoming sports drama film “They Fight,” set to premiere on July 17. The movie follows the story of Walt Manigan, a reformed ex-con looking for redemption in a boxing gym in Southeast D.C. under the guidance of his mentor, Slim. Alongside Walt are three young fighters battling their own demons. Starring André Holland and Wendell Pierce, the film is written and directed by Sheldon Candis.

In addition to the main cast, the movie also features Samira Wiley, Anthony B. Jenkins, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and Mykelti Williamson. “They Fight” will first premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8 before its release on Hulu in July.

Other exciting news from Hulu includes the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall experience in L.A., a new comedy pilot inspired by The Cable Guy, and the renewal of “That Thrifting Show” for a second season. FX has also ordered “The Marriage Plot,” a limited series based on an acclaimed novel.
