Peacock’s The Break-In Marks Return to Scripted TV
Peacock has been coming up with some solid hits lately, and there’s even talk of turning a profit soon. But now, they’re ready to dive back into scripted shows and have just given the green light to their first original series in over a year – The Break-In. This is Peacock’s first scripted show since May 2025, when they acquired Dig and the Ted animated series.
The blame for this latest show falls on Her, the team behind All Her Fault, the Sarah Snook-led miniseries. The Break-In will bring to life another tale of domestic terror based on a mystery by Katherine Faulkner. The show is created by Megan Gallagher, who also brought us All Her Fault, which turned out to be Peacock’s biggest hit so far.
According to Faulkner, The Break-In explores themes of motherhood, privilege, guilt, and the consequences of lies lurking beneath seemingly perfect lives.
