Shocking Claims Revealed in Jail Audio Calls by Mackenzie Shirilla

In a series of recent jailhouse phone calls, Mackenzie Shirilla opened up about her feelings towards the trial testimony and the families of the victims as the trial unfolded. Strongsville police has released hours of audio between Shirilla and her mother, shedding light on her concerns and reactions.

During one call, Shirilla expressed her worry about her belongings, mentioning, “I’m worried about my stuff. Cause if that’s how they feel about me, they definitely f***** up my stuff.”

One of the calls captured Shirilla’s response to court statements made by Dominic Russo’s brother, Angelo. She reflected, “I understand Davion’s mom and how they were saying things because they don’t know me…but it’s just what Miss Russo and Angela said that was just crazy.”

Regarding a specific mention of military service, Shirilla expressed disbelief, to which her mother responded with supportive advice, reassuring her daughter that those speaking against her are “just evil people” and urging her not to dwell on their words.

Looking back at the case, in 2022, prosecutors claimed that Shirilla deliberately drove at speeds up to 100 miles per hour, crashing her car into a brick wall in Strongsville, resulting in the deaths of her boyfriend Dominic Russo and friend Davion Flanigan. After being found guilty in 2023, Shirilla was sentenced to life in prison.

Despite the conviction, Shirilla continues to fight for her freedom. Recently, she petitioned the Ohio Supreme Court to review her case after facing previous denial of appeals. In one of the calls, she expressed her concerns about potentially receiving more time if an appeal were granted, prompting her mother to steer clear of the conversation.
