Thousands Attend Live Taping of ‘Beast Games’ Season 3 at ECU Stadium
Around 16,000 people gathered at East Carolina University’s Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Sunday night for a live taping of “Beast Games” Season 3. The event, featuring Greenville native Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, drew fans from all over the world, with tickets selling out in just 18 hours.
The popular show, which streams on Amazon Prime Video, had fans lining up outside the stadium well before the event began, eager to be part of what many called a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With a strict no-phone policy in place, attendees were fully immersed in the excitement from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m.
According to ECU officials, fans from Turkey, London, Canada, and the U.S. West Coast all made the journey to attend the live taping. The massive production, which involved over 500 crew members, is not only a thrilling experience for fans but also a significant economic boost for Greenville.
In an email to Pirate Nation, ECU Athletics Director Jon Gilbert highlighted the positive impact of the event on the local economy. With hotels at full capacity, increased business for restaurants and catering services, and a boost for local companies, the production is bringing a welcome surge of visitors and activity to the area.
Additionally, a large LED structure was installed on the field for the production, and Bagwell Field will be fully resodded before football season, all at the expense of the production company. This event not only showcases East Carolina University and Greenville on a global scale but also fosters collaboration and appreciation among all parties involved.
