Apple TV Reporter Injured in Orioles Game: Scary Scenes Unfold
Apple TV+ sideline reporter Tricia Whitaker had a bit of a scare at Camden Yards during the Orioles game against the Detroit Tigers. In the third inning, a foul ball off the bat of Adley Rutschman smacked Whitaker in the left wrist, causing quite a stir.
Whitaker, known for her work in the NFL, NBA, and college athletics, took to X to share her experience. The medical team quickly attended to her, providing a makeshift ice pack before switching to a compression wrap to help with her forearm discomfort.
This isn’t the first time a reporter has been on the receiving end of a baseball mishap. In 2022, Kelsey Wingert took a line drive to the forehead, and in 2023, John Sterling was hit in the head by a bouncing foul ball in the broadcast booth.
Despite the attention on Whitaker’s injury, the Orioles managed to secure a win over the Tigers, thanks in part to Adley Rutschman’s impressive performance at home. Rutschman’s solid batting average at Camden Yards, along with his 7 home runs this season, has provided some stability for the team in an otherwise challenging season. Other players like Pete Alonso are also pitching in to help, but Rutschman’s standout performance at home is a notable highlight for the Orioles.
