20 Streets in Glasgow Scheduled for Closure Next Month for Filming
Next month, over 20 streets in Glasgow are scheduled to close for filming, with some set to see disruption for 25 days. From June 1 to June 26, streets in the city’s East End will be affected. The closures will impact all vehicles except for emergency service vehicles on emergency calls or those granted permission by the Glasgow City Council’s events section. Rumor has it that the filming may be for the third season of the Apple TV+ period drama The Buccaneers, which began filming in Glasgow back in April.
The production first filmed in Glasgow in 2022, and this time around, it’s causing some road closures. A specific list of roads affected by the filming has been released, detailing various prohibitions on waiting, loading, unloading, and vehicle movements throughout the designated time period. Streets like Clydebrae Street, Bell Street, Candleriggs, Trongate, Stag Street, Hutchison Street, Garth Street, Park Circus Place, Park Circus, Park Street South, Parnie Street, Osbourne Street, Chisholm Street, George Street, North Portland Street, High Street, Albion Street, and more are all on the list for restrictions.
So, if you’re planning to be in Glasgow in June, take note of the impacted streets and plan accordingly to avoid delays and inconveniences as the filming takes place.
