Streaming Ratings Update: Leading Shows ‘Bluey’ and ‘The Boys’ in a Calm Week.
Streaming titles had a bit of a slower week in late April, with no show or movie reaching the billion-minute mark in viewing time according to Nielsen’s top 10 charts. The popular kids’ show Bluey and the action-packed series The Boys came the closest.
Bluey grabbed 889 million viewing minutes on Disney+ for the week of April 20-26, marking its best weekly total since late January. It took the number one spot overall, just ahead of The Boys at 882 million minutes on Prime Video. The darkly comedic superhero show led the original series top 10, even though it saw a slight decrease from the previous week.
The top series debut of the week was Running Point, a Netflix comedy that racked up 772 million viewing minutes during the week of its season two premiere. This was a drop from the approximately 1.05 billion minutes it pulled in during its series debut week last year. Also breaking into the charts for the first time this year were Netflix’s thriller Unchosen with 580 million minutes, the competition show Million Dollar Secret with 413 million minutes, and the docuseries Hulk Hogan: Real American with 353 million minutes.
Euphoria also saw an improvement in the week following its first appearance in the streaming rankings.
