St. Cloud Metro Bus Operator Wins National Roadeo in St. Cloud
Jason Hiivala, a Fixed Route Bus Operator with St. Cloud Metro Bus, recently clinched the top spot in the 35 Foot Division at the National Community Transportation Roadeo hosted by the Community Transportation Association of America. This prestigious competition, held in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 10th, brings together bus operators from all corners of the country to showcase their safety and service skills.
Competing with 20 other skilled operators in the 35 Foot Division, Hiivala’s exceptional performance secured him the first-place title. The overall event featured 51 contestants in the Body-on-Chassis Division alongside the 35 Foot Division participants.
St. Cloud Metro Bus proudly sent four operators to represent them at this national event, with two competing in each division. Alongside Hiivala’s remarkable achievement, the team also boasted three top-10 finishes. Carl Hallberg stood alongside Hiivala in the 35 Foot Division, while David Peacock and Keith Drake showcased their skills in the Body-on-Chassis Division.
These talented operators earned their spots in the national competition by excelling in local and state roadeos in the previous year. St. Cloud Metro Bus continues to stand out on a national stage, highlighting the commitment to excellence that the organization and its operators embody.
