Zach Galifianakis to Star in ‘Very Young Frankenstein’ on FX/Hulu

FX and Hulu have exciting news for fans of the classic comedy film Young Frankenstein. Very Young Frankenstein, based on Mel Brooks’ 1974 hit, has been greenlit for a series. This fresh take on the beloved story will star Zach Galifianakis, Dolly Wells, and Spencer House, though the specific roles they’ll play remain a mystery for now.

According to FX Entertainment President Nick Grad, Very Young Frankenstein will offer viewers a completely original perspective on the age-old tale. The original film featured Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and Peter Boyle as his creature, providing a satirical spin on the iconic Frankenstein story.

The series is in good hands, with Stefani Robinson, Taika Waititi, and Garrett Basch at the helm. Mel Brooks himself is on board as an executive producer, bringing his comedic genius to the project. Credit goes to Robinson for penning the script, while Waititi directed the first episode.

This isn’t the first time a Mel Brooks classic has been revived recently. Hulu delighted audiences with a streaming of Brooks’ History of the World Part 2, and an upcoming Spaceballs: The New One is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

For fans of the original Young Frankenstein and newcomers alike, Very Young Frankenstein promises to be a hilarious and fresh take on a timeless story. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting series!
