“Tommen Boys Amazon Series Announces Cast for Irish Young Adult Adaptation”
Amazon Prime Video recently announced the exciting cast for the upcoming series “Boys of Tommen,” based on Chloe Walsh’s popular book series. Nancy Surridge will star as Shannon Lynch, a new student at Tommen College, alongside Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh, the golden boy of Tommen. Also joining the cast are James O’Donoghue as Joey, Shannon’s troubled brother, and Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Joey’s love interest.
In this forbidden love story, Johnny, a rising rugby star with a potentially career-ending injury, falls for Shannon, a talented but introverted girl with a troubled home life. As they navigate their secrets and feelings, the two teenagers from different worlds come together to support each other against all odds.
Brendan Canty, known for “Christy,” will direct the series, with Ingrid Goodwin serving as the series producer. The cast includes newcomers and familiar faces like Sánchez, O’Donoghue, and McGibbon, who have appeared in various film and TV projects.
Adapted by Poppy Cogan from Walsh’s novels “Binding 13” and “Keeping 13,” the show promises to capture the essence of young adult life with empathy and honesty. Executive producers include Paul Lee, Wyck Godfrey, and others. The casting director is Carla Stronge.
With a deep connection to the Irish setting, the series is expected to captivate audiences with its engaging story and talented cast. Stay tuned for more updates as production moves forward!
