Jewell Wallace Mimbs: Jones County News Update

Born on June 17, 1933 in Model, TN, Jewell Wallace Mimbs passed away on May 2, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice. A celebration of her life took place on May 8, 2026, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Gray, GA. Before the service, her family held a visitation and a private burial followed at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Jewell was a steadfast follower of Christ and an active member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She had a successful career at Keebler, where she worked for 42 years before retiring. Family was central to her life, and she always made time for them. Her husband, William (Jink) Mimbs, preceded her in death.

Jewell is survived by her son, Larry Mimbs; daughter, Lonna Mimbs Greene (Kurt); grandchildren, Leslie Mimbs McNabb, Brad Mimbs, Kyle Peacock, and Kaley Peacock Thrasher; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
