Severance Season 3 Update: Release Date News and Fan Reassurance
Adam Scott, star of Apple TV+’s hit sci-fi drama Severance, recently shared some exciting news about Season 3. While attending the BAFTA TV Awards, Scott mentioned that the team behind Severance is aiming to speed up the release of Season 3. He acknowledged the three-year delay between Seasons 1 and 2 was too long and assured fans that the new season should arrive much sooner. Filming is expected to start soon, although Scott refrained from spilling any plot details to avoid spoilers.
Despite the push for a faster release, Scott emphasized that quality remains a top priority for the creators. “We’re always trying to shorten the amount of time between seasons, but it’s more important for it to be great than for it to be fast,” he explained in an interview with Deadline.
Severance, a psychological thriller created by Dan Erickson and executive produced by Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, has become one of Apple TV+’s most successful originals. The series follows employees at Lumon Industries who undergo a procedure separating their work memories from their personal lives. Scott plays Mark Scout, an employee unraveling dark secrets tied to the company.
The ensemble cast includes Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Tramell Tillman, and Dichen Lachlan. Season 2 reportedly became Apple TV+’s most-watched show at the time and received 27 Emmy nominations in 2025, winning eight awards.
Severance continues to captivate audiences with its unique concept, mystery-driven storytelling, and stellar performances. The show currently holds a 95 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.6/10 rating on IMDb. Viewers have praised the eerie office atmosphere and emotional twists, particularly in Season 2’s finale.
