Rivals Season 2 Review: The Most Entertaining Guilty Pleasure on TV

Hulu’s Rivals season 2 is back and better than ever! This show is like no other on TV, embracing indulgence and fun without apology. Set in the 1980s British elite society, Rivals delivers plenty of sex, crazy plot twists, and a cast of characters that are a joy to watch. It’s a throwback to classic soap operas, with a modern twist that keeps viewers hooked.

The second season picks up right where we left off after the dramatic events of the first season. The rivalry between Lord Tony Baddingham and Rupert Campbell-Black continues to heat up, with personal vendettas and power struggles taking center stage. But this season adds even more depth to the characters and introduces new storylines that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

While Rivals still delivers plenty of scandal and eye candy, it also allows its female characters to shine. Taggie, Lizzie, Maud, Lady Monica, and Sarah all get their moment to shine, with complex arcs that add richness to the story. The addition of new characters, like Hayley Atwell’s Helen and Rupert Everett’s Malise, brings even more intrigue and history to the mix.

The cast of Rivals is stellar, with standout performances from David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Bella Maclean, and Emily Atack. Tennant’s portrayal of the unapologetic villain is a joy to watch, while Hassell adds depth and vulnerability to his character. Atack’s Sarah steals the show in many ways, adding layers to the story that will keep you coming back for more.

The first half of season 2 promises plenty of drama and excitement, with more to come later this year. If you’re a fan of the first season, you won’t want to miss what Rivals has in store next. Tune in to Hulu on May 15th for the premiere of Rivals season 2!
