Julie Bowen’s Insights on a Potential ‘Modern Family’ Reboot
Julie Bowen recently shared some exciting insights about the possibility of a “Modern Family” reboot. When asked if the cast would be open to returning to our screens, Bowen, who played Claire Dunphy on the show, enthusiastically responded, “I would do that. I would do that in a heartbeat.”
“Modern Family,” which aired from 2009 to 2020, gained massive popularity for its portrayal of diverse family dynamics. With a star-studded cast and 22 Primetime Emmy Awards under its belt, the show left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.
Bowen emphasized the essential role of the show’s talented writers in creating its success. She mentioned, “We have brilliant writers; all the good that came from that show started in the writers’ room, and we just got to play with it.” Bowen expressed her willingness to participate in a reboot if there was a compelling story to tell.
Over the years, cast members have hinted at the idea of a reboot, leading to informal gatherings and collaborations. Despite these discussions, logistical challenges might hinder the actualization of a reboot. Ty Burrell, who played Phil Dunphy on the show, acknowledged that coordinating the return of the entire cast could be complex. He mentioned, “I think there are shows that are maybe easier to wrangle than ten actors, but I don’t know. You never know, you never know.”
Bowen and Burrell, both real-life parents, recently partnered with GSK for the “Ask2BSure” campaign to raise awareness about meningitis risks among teens and young adults. Addressing the prevention of meningitis, the campaign encourages parents to talk to their child’s doctor about vaccinations to safeguard against various meningitis strains.
While a “Modern Family” reboot might not be in the immediate future, fans can hold onto hope for the beloved show’s return, given the enduring camaraderie among the cast and their openness to reuniting under the right circumstances.
