Prime Video: Top 20 Weekly Sports Content Rankings (May 3)

In some exciting news for sports fans, new data from Nielsen reveals that Prime Video’s collaboration with NBC Sports, Peacock, ESPN, and ABC has been a hit with viewers. The week of April 27 to May 3 saw three of the top 20 most-watched TV sports events coming from Prime Video.

One standout was the May 1 playoff game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets, which drew in 4.45 million viewers across 2.7 million households, landing it at No. 6 on the list. The Detroit Pistons’ Game 6 semifinal against the Orlando Magic on May 1 ranked No. 13, with 2.78 million viewers in 1.6 million homes. And the Magic vs. Pistons Game 5 on April 29 took the No. 19 spot with 2.23 million viewers in 1.4 million homes.

NBC Sports, in partnership with Peacock, secured seven of the top 20 spots for most-watched sports content, with ESPN and ABC combining for eight games. Not to be outdone, Fox Sports (Fox One) simulcast the Würth 400 NASCAR race in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 3, attracting 2.28 million viewers across 1.65 million households for the No. 18 spot. Additionally, CBS Sports (with Paramount+) brought the PGA Cadillac Championship in Miami to viewers, earning the No. 20 spot with 2.1 million viewers in 1.6 million homes.
