M.I.A.: Series by Ozark Co-Creator on Paramount+
A new dramatic series called M.I.A., created by Bill Dubuque, one of the masterminds behind Ozark, is set to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in France on May 7, 2026. The show stars Shannon Gisela as Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman who finds herself caught up in her family’s criminal activities in Miami after tragedy strikes in the drug trade they are involved in.
With nine episodes each lasting 60 minutes, M.I.A. follows Etta’s journey from the Florida Keys to the dangerous underworld of Miami, illuminated by neon lights but shadowed by dark corners and risky promises. As she navigates this criminal world, Etta must not only protect herself but also explore how much she is willing to do to safeguard her future and her place within her family.
The series is a blend of family drama, crime thriller, and a tale of personal growth set against the backdrop of Miami. Bill Dubuque, the creator, writer, and producer behind Ozark, leads the creative team for M.I.A. Karen Campbell, known for her work on Outlander, Dexter, and Raised by Wolves, joins as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
The first season kicks off with direction from Alethea Jones, who also worked as a producer on the show. Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Mairzee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl also contribute their directing talents to the series.
M.I.A. promises to be a compelling addition to the streaming landscape, offering viewers a gripping narrative woven with suspense, drama, and the allure of Miami’s enigmatic underbelly.
