Watch the 152nd Kentucky Derby Live on NBC and Peacock: A Viewer’s Guide

end all day digging deep into the event, and this Saturday, that’s exactly what NBC Sports plans to do.

This year marks the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, and the 25th consecutive year that the event has been broadcast live on NBC. To celebrate, NBC Sports has more than 12 hours of coverage planned across two days, live on NBC and Peacock. Here’s how you can catch all the action.

The weekend of the Kentucky Derby is actually a much larger event than a Saturday of pageantry followed by a two-minute race. That’s why NBC Sports’ coverage actually begins Friday with the Kentucky Oaks races, celebrating the best fillies in racing. Fans can tune in to Peacock at 4 p.m. ET Friday to watch the five races on the Kentucky Oaks undercard. Then, Friday night, NBC will air the annual Kentucky Oaks race for the first time in primetime. That broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET live on NBC and streams simultaneously on Peacock.

After an exciting afternoon and evening of racing on Friday, NBC Sports’ coverage of the Kentucky Derby and its assorted undercard races is set to begin on Saturday, May 2 at Noon ET live on Peacock. That’s when you’ll be able to catch Kentucky Derby undercard races, with nine different races throughout the afternoon building up to the Derby itself. NBC’s live coverage of Derby Day will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET, and feature more than four hours of live coverage from Churchill Downs, spotlighting everything from the fashion to the history of legendary horses and jockeys in the Kentucky Derby’s past, and much, much more. The Derby itself is set for a post time of 6:57 p.m. ET.

To pull it all off, NBC Sports has assembled a massive broadcast team led by host Mike Tirico, helming his 10th Kentucky Derby broadcast. Tirico will be joined by analysts Jerry Bailey and Randy Moss; handciappers Eddie Olczyk and Matt Bernier; host/reporter Ahmed Fareed; reporters Britney Eurton, Donna Brothers, Kenny Rice, and Nick Luck; and race caller Larry Collmus. Plus, you’ll get feature reporting from Rebecca Lowe, fashion updates from Dylan Dreyer and Zanna Robert Rassi, infield coverage from John Fanta, and in-depth analysis from NBC News’ fan-favorite numbers man, Steve Kornacki.

Odds for the Derby winners are changing all the time, and as anyone who’s watched this race before knows, anything can happen. As of this writing, though, the favorite horses in the 152nd installment of the Kentucky Derby are Renegade (4-1 odds), Further Ado (6-1 odds), Commandment (6-1 odds), Chief Wallabee (8-1 odds), and The Puma (10-1 odds).

The 2026 Kentucky Derby runs for the roses Saturday, May 2, with NBC Sports’ coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, bringing you all the fun and pageantry all day long, live from Churchill Downs.
