From his humble beginnings in Miami, Florida, to his close relationship with his mother who is battling multiple sclerosis, the documentary takes viewers through his pivotal moments, including leading the Indiana Hoosiers to an undefeated season, winning a national championship, and receiving a Heisman Trophy. The big question remains – will he meet the high expectations as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft? “IMPACT x Nightline” delves into Mendoza’s compelling narrative and explores what the future holds for this promising athlete.

The documentary features interviews with well-known personalities such as Chris Connelly, Rece Davis, Dave Dunn, Jen Lada, Louis Riddick, Tim Plough, Benjamin Cure, Dan Orlovsky, and Kelley Carter. It’s part of the fourth season of ABC News Studios’ “IMPACT x Nightline”, an acclaimed newsmagazine series that investigates current cultural topics and global conversations.
