Warner Bros Shareholders Approve Paramount’s $81 Billion Takeover

Warner Bros shareholders have given the green light to Paramount’s $81 billion takeover bid. The massive deal, worth almost $111 billion with debt included, could have a huge impact on Hollywood and the broader media landscape.

The preliminary vote count showed that the majority of Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders voted in favor of selling the entire company to Paramount for $31 a share. If the deal goes through, we could see HBO Max, iconic titles like “Harry Potter,” and even CNN all falling under the umbrella of Paramount, alongside CBS, “Top Gun,” and Paramount’s streaming service.

While shareholders are on board, the deal still needs to navigate regulatory hurdles, including scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Justice. Warner Bros. anticipates finalizing the merger sometime in the third fiscal quarter, pending approvals.
