Comcast: When Will Peacock Become Profitable?
Comcast recently reported that Peacock, its streaming service, took a hit with a loss of $432 million in the first quarter of 2026. While that might sound like a lot, especially compared to the $101 million loss in the previous quarter, Comcast remains optimistic about the future of Peacock. In fact, Comcast CFO Jason Armstrong mentioned that this past quarter could be a turning point, with Peacock potentially approaching profitability as soon as the next quarter.
Despite the financial loss, Peacock saw an increase in subscribers, reaching 46 million by March 31, compared to 41 million at the same time in 2025. This growth in subscribers is a promising trend for the company, showing potential for profitability in the near future. Peacock’s revenue received a boost in the first quarter, reaching $2 billion, largely due to new subscribers joining during events like the Winter Olympics, the Super Bowl, and the NBA’s All-Star Weekend.
While the idea of turning a profit next quarter might seem like a big leap, the positive trajectory of Peacock’s subscriber numbers and revenue is giving Comcast confidence in the service’s future success. So, let’s cheer on team Peacock as they work towards their goal of ongoing profitability.
