Paramount+ UK Picks Up Heist Thriller Series ‘The Day’

Paramount+ in the UK is gearing up for an exciting new heist thriller series called “The Day” (working title). The show stars Minnie Driver, Luca Pasqualino, and Louisa Harland, and is set to be a real nail-biter. Co-produced by Dynamic Television and Clapperboard Studios, this eight-part series is based on the hit Belgian show called De Dag.

Picture this: a terrifying bank siege happening in real-time, all in the span of just one day. When the police accidentally stumble upon a bank robbery in progress, chaos ensues as the criminals decide to barricade themselves inside. The series kicks off from the perspective of police negotiator Sylvia “Vox” Voxley, played by Minnie Driver, as she races against the clock to save the hostages. But here’s the twist—each episode shifts between the police operation and the robbers inside the bank, offering different viewpoints and keeping you guessing until the explosive finale.

Currently in production, “The Day” will air on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland. For fans outside these regions, don’t worry – Dynamic Television will be handling global distribution. Exciting news, right?
