Top 5 Starfleet Academy Characters for Future Star Trek Projects

There are so many intriguing characters in Starfleet Academy, but one that stands out is Genesis Lythe, played by Bella Shepard. Genesis, the daughter of an admiral, had a unique upbringing living on spaceships. She’s tough on herself but gained confidence when given the opportunity to captain the USS Athena.

What makes Genesis even more compelling is that she belongs to the Dar-Sha alien race, a group we know very little about. Their history, culture, and homeworld remain a mystery. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new alien race introduced in Star Trek, so it would be a shame not to explore the Dar-Sha further.

Luckily, Bella Shepard herself hinted at a possible season 2 episode of Starfleet Academy focusing on Genesis. Hopefully, this means we will get to learn more about her and the fascinating Dar-Sha in future Trek projects. It would be a real shame to let such an intriguing character and alien race go to waste.
