NBC’s Peacock TV Show Cancelled After 5 Seasons

One of the most beloved NBC and Peacock TV shows is saying goodbye after five amazing seasons. “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” a spin-off of the iconic “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” will not be returning for a sixth season. The show originally premiered on NBC but made its home on Peacock for its final season, wrapping up with a total of 75 episodes. The series finale aired on June 12, 2025.

Deadline reported that the series was in search of a new showrunner back in February, but unfortunately, nothing materialized. NBC’s confidence in their new drama pilots ultimately led to the difficult decision to cancel the show.

Starring the talented Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler, a character adored by fans from his days on SVU, the show followed Stabler’s return to the NYPD after his wife’s tragic murder. Joining the Organized Crime Task Force, led by Sergeant Ayanna Bell (portrayed by Danielle Moné Truitt), Stabler navigated the gritty world of organized crime.

In addition to Meloni and Truitt, the series featured an outstanding ensemble cast including Aisnley Seiger, Tamara Taylor, Dylan McDermott, Nona Parker Johnson, Brent Antonello, Rick Gonzalez, and Dean Norris. The show originally debuted in 2021 and captured the hearts of audiences with its gripping storylines and stellar performances.
