Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Cancelled

Christopher Meloni’s run as Elliot Stabler has come to an end with the cancellation of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” after five seasons. The show originally aired on NBC for four seasons from 2021 to 2024 before moving to Peacock for its fifth and final season.

Created by Dick Wolf, the crime procedural followed Stabler as he returned to the NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau after a decade-long hiatus from the force. Meloni, who portrayed Stabler, is no stranger to the Law & Order universe, having previously starred alongside Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson in “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

While fans have hoped for a romantic relationship between Stabler and Benson, played by Hargitay, Meloni has expressed the complexity of their professional and personal histories making it challenging for the characters to have a happy ending. However, he has not ruled out the idea completely, stating that he believes both characters should “ride off into the sunset.”

Despite the show’s cancellation, Meloni and Hargitay’s real-life friendship remains strong. Meloni has expressed that their connection is unique and irreplaceable, reflecting on the journey they have shared in the Law & Order universe.
