Peacock Unveils Trailer for Crime Thriller ‘M.I.A.’ in TV News Roundup

Peacock recently released the trailer for its new crime thriller series, “M.I.A.,” which is set to premiere on May 7. The trailer gives us a peek into the mystery surrounding a murdered family, connections to a cartel, and a lone survivor seeking revenge.

According to the show’s logline, the story follows Etta Tiger Jonze, who is restless in the Florida Keys and dreams of a life in Miami. However, tragedy strikes her family’s drug-running business, prompting Etta to embark on a risky journey through Miami’s neon-lit underbelly. This journey will challenge her identity and reveal her true capabilities.

The series features a talented cast including Shannon Gisela, Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. Additionally, guest appearances will be made by Edward James Olmos, Billy Burke, Sonia Braga, Loretta Devine, Tovah Felshuh, Tyler Perez, Paul Ben-Victor, and David Denman.

“M.I.A.” is the brainchild of writer and executive producer Bill Dubuque, known for co-creating the hit Netflix series “Ozark.” Karen Campbell will serve as executive producer and showrunner, with Alethea Jones directing and executive-producing the series. Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Marizee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl will also direct episodes. The show is produced by MRC.
