Supriya Ganesh Exits ‘The Pitt’ as Ayesha Harris Promoted to Series Regular
The ER at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is about to see some changes as we gear up for the next season of The Pitt. Supriya Ganesh, who has been playing the role of Dr. Samira Mohan in the first two seasons of the popular HBO Max series, will be leaving the show. But don’t worry, fans – Ayesha Harris, who has appeared as night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis, is getting a promotion to series regular for the upcoming third season of The Pitt.
Ganesh’s departure from the show is not due to any behind-the-scenes drama – it’s simply a story decision. You see, the fictional PTMC is a teaching hospital, and turnover is pretty normal in real-life teaching hospitals. Besides, Ganesh’s character has been mulling over her next career move on the show after her plans to head back to New Jersey got derailed. So, it makes sense for her character to move on, just like Tracy Ifeachor’s Dr. Heather Collins did after season one.
